Aligning with the changes

When processing bank payments, especially internationally, financial institutions require certain data fields to be present: payer and payee names, account numbers[1], and payer addresses[2].

Banks use these fields to detect and investigate suspicious transactions according to national regulations. Unstructured addresses prevent quick and automatic decision-making. In contrast, structured addresses can speed up transfers and reduce manual back-office work.

Many payment schemes and messaging networks now support structured addresses and are planning to make them mandatory. Implementations vary: Swift, for example, starts with hybrid postal addresses (separating only the country and town names) in 2026, while SIC[3] goes straight to structured addresses as soon as 2025.

Even without external pressure, switching to structured addresses can improve payment efficiency, for example, by reducing generic rejections in instant integrations (such as RR04 in SCT Inst[4]).

How PaySway can support the transition

Implementing these changes can be difficult if you want to avoid disrupting existing applications or lack detailed address segmentation in the database.

With PaySway, you can achieve compliant and accurate results with minimal development, even for more complex cases. Send any address (in English or the local language) and receive a structured result ready for immediate use in your payment application.
